Yesterday while we were playing, Alayna looked at me and said ‘I’m not poop, I’m beautiful’.
In my mind I knew that, my daughter will always be the prettiest in my eyes.
But don’t tell her that. Tell her she’s smart, strong and kind. The importance of being pretty in our society is so high that we forget about other aspects of a person’s character. I don’t want her to think that looks are the only thing she has to offer. There’s so much more.
I want my her to be independent, to provide help to the world, spread positivity and love. Daughters can be so much more than just a pretty face.
